Field of Interest
Cardiovascular and Neuro Pharmacology and Toxicology
(Companion Animal, Laboratory Animal)

Mechanisms by which pharmacological agents and toxicants influence biochemical targets at the level of receptors and ion channels,
especially to elucidate structure/function relationships. Cellular, biochemical and molecular approaches are used. The impact of xenobiotics or calcium homeostasis at the cellular & subcellular level; present focus is on ligand gated calcium release channel which plays a key role in excitation-contraction coupling in muscle cells and neurotransmitter release in nerve cells.
