I received my DVM degree from UC Davis in 1974, and advanced clinical training at the University of Georgia and at UC Davis. I chose UCD for professional reasons (its developing, species-oriented clinical veterinary program) as well as personal reasons. My clinical assignment in livestock reproduction necessarily involves populations of animals, assessment of reproductive performance. etc. My research work involves studies on the pathogenesis of bovine venereal disease, particularly trichomoniasis. Some of the latter has involved survey epidemiological work to describe the prevalence of this disease in California.
