Clinical veterinary bacteriology and mycology; pathogenesis of bacterial diseases, specifically diseases caused by spirochetes and members of the Streptococcaceae; infectious foot diseases of cattle, particularly papillomatous digital dermatitis; use of molecular diagnostic techniques in clinical bacteriology.
